City Of Tampa About To Get More Protection From Flooding From Stormwater Pipe Expansion
As part of a comprehensive five year plan, the City of Tampa’s stormwater pipes are set for widening this year! The stormwater pipes will soon be for times the diameter, allowing significantly more stormwater to drain from the city during hard rains. Currently, they’re 12 inches in diameter. After this improvement, they will be 48-inch in diameter. The upgrade also serves to fix existing systems having problems.
The estimated cost of the job might shock you. It’s much less than many anticipated. The cost to widen the stormwater pipes? Just $600,000. The costs include labor, materials and equipment. The plan? Install Cured-In-Place Pipe lining. Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP) Lining has been in use in the US for the last 35 years. The CIPP lining process rehabilitates virtually any type of pipe including: Clay, Cast Iron, Orangeburg, HDPE, Concrete, PVC, ABS, and Corrugated Metal Pipe.
