How to Get the Most Out of Your Coat Closet Tampa Bay Homes for Sale

If you’re buying a house for sale in Belleair Beach, a condo in Brandon, or a golf course home in Odessa, you’ll want to make the most of your entryway… and that includes getting the most out of your coat closet, as well.

How to Get the Most Out of Your Coat Closet

It’s the little things that count when you’re talking about a coat closet—and the first thing you can do to make the most of the floor space is to score a basket for each family member that you can tuck behind the door. That way, each family member has easy access to his or her belongings (and you have a place to put things that your family members have left out, making cleaning up a little easier).

Add low hooks inside the door for small kids, where they can hang their own jackets and sweatshirts. If you can, stash off-season outerwear elsewhere in the house; that way, your coat closet won’t get overstuffed.

Color-coded hanging baskets for shoes are always a hit, too, and you can hang them from the rail where you’d ordinarily put hangers. An over-the-door shoe rack can be a good bet, but make sure you pad the metal hooks on it so it doesn’t scratch the paint or worse, chip away at the wood of your door.
