How to Hang Artwork

How to Hang Artwork Tampa Bay Real Estate

When you’re buying a new home, whether it’s a waterfront home in Wesley Chapel, a luxury home in Apollo Beach, or a condo in St. Petersburg, you’ll need to decorate each room—and one of the best ways to do that is through art.

But how do you hang it correctly, so it looks good rather than amateurish?

How to Hang Artwork

It’s always okay to start with a huge piece of art, centrally located on the wall. This big piece will anchor any arrangement—even if you lay smaller pieces out randomly.

If you’re opting out of the large piece of art, choose identical frames in different colors and create a geometric pattern. You can also find two oversized pieces and hang them low to become a room’s focal point, or create an artful grid that turns personal photos into a beautiful display.

Hanging Art at Eye-Level

To find the exact point you need to hang the center of your piece for it to be at eye-level, here’s what you do:

  1. Measure from the top edge of the frame to the nail.
  2. Divide the frame height by two.
  3. Subtract the measurement from Step 1.
  4. Add 60 to that number to get your final hanging height.
