Who's Involved in Every Real Estate Transaction - Tampa Bay Homes for Sale

If you’re looking for a home in Hillsboro, Pasco or Pinellas Counties, particularly if this is the first time you’ve ever purchased, you need to know who’s going to be involved in your real estate transaction.

Typically, the same group of professionals are involved in every real estate transaction.

So who are they?

The Key Players in Real Estate Transactions

Because buying a home generally follows the same process for everyone, there are key people you’ll need to rely on throughout the transaction.

Your Realtor®

Your Realtor is there to guide you through the entire homebuying process. He or she will help you find homes you like, take you to tour them, and help you when it’s time to make an offer. Your Realtor will look out for your best interests during your homebuying adventure, and he or she will advise you on pricing, negotiation and more.

The Managing Broker

Most people don’t deal with the managing broker – that’s who your agent works with in his or her office – but you can if you’d like to.

The Lender

Your lender is the entity that gives you the cash to buy the home. You may choose to work with a local lender or a national lender – your Realtor will be able to give you guidance if you need to know where to go.

The Seller’s Agent

Most real estate transactions depend on two real estate agents – yours (the buyer’s agent) and the seller’s agent. The seller’s agent is looking out for his or her client, while your agent is looking out for you.

An Attorney

Many people choose to work with an attorney when they close the transaction. An attorney doesn’t replace the title company; he or she will be there to ensure the contracts are correct and answer your legal questions that the title company can’t answer.

Home Inspectors and Appraisers

You’ll need to work with a home inspector to uncover any potential problems in the home, and the appraiser will be the one who tells you how much the home is worth.
