1. Remain Focused on Your Goal
If you want to save as much money as possible and get as many extras as you can, it is important to remain focused. Keep your personal comments to yourself and avoid revealing just how interested you are in the property. Never allow the seller’s agent to realize how much you love the home.
2. Ask for Extras Not Discounts
The price of a new construction home is usually set in stone, which means the seller isn’t going to reduce it for anyone. However, it is possible to negotiate for an upgrade in quality in certain features of the home. It doesn’t hurt to ask, and you may end up with a discount on add-ons that do not come with the basic package.
3. Purchase a Finished Home

4. Learn to Say “No Thank You”
Once you find a home that you fall in love with, it is difficult to walk away in search of another. If the price is simply higher than you want to pay, you can always say no. While it may not be easy to let go, it could be the better move for you. If the seller is anxious to sell, you may receive an incentive to reconsider.

The most important factor for buyers is to keep their level of interest hidden from the seller while negotiating. Be sure to ask for everything that you want.
