Aug. 5: Dizzy Kickball Classic and Public Carnival
Don’t miss the Back to School Dizzy Kickball Classic and Public Carnival in St. Petersburg! It’s coming up. You’ll get to see preselected teams of kids, pro athletes, firefighters, police officers, and local celebrities in a crazy game of kickball with St. Petersburg’s Mayor Rick Kriseman sending out the first ball.
Then, after the game, enjoy a morale-boosting kids carnival! The carnival is open to the public. It will feature bounce houses, dancing, dance performances, and a raffle. Plus, kids can get free haircuts and styling! Also, there will be more than 100 free backpacks full of school supplies. Don’t forget to sign up for little league baseball registration while you’re there!

There is no charge for entry into these events. This back-to-school even takes place from noon until 6 p.m. on August 5 at the Thomas “Jet” Jackson Park and Recreation Center. The address is 1000 28th St. S in St. Petersburg. For more information call: (407) 530-7756.
