When you’re selling your home in the Tampa Bay area, your Realtor® will most likely talk to you about home staging—that’s the process of arranging your home in the most attractive way possible so that potential buyers will want to buy it.
But there’s a new trend in town: Pop-up staging.
What is Pop-Up Staging?
A staged home is more likely to sell faster (and for more money). The statistics say that staged houses sell 88 percent faster, and for 20 percent more money, according to Realtor.com.
The problem? Professional staging can cost about $7,000 for a 2,000-square-foot home.
That’s out of the question for most of us.
Enter pop-up staging. Pop-up staging is an economical alternative to traditional home staging—but it doesn’t use real furniture.
Instead, it’s cardboard boxes draped in slipcovers. A starter kit that includes a bed, couch, ottoman and chair costs just over $1,000.
While this won’t work when people are coming to see your home, it beats empty rooms for listing photos.
Is Pop-Up Staging Worth It?
Talk to your Realtor before you invest in a pop-up staging kit. It may not be worth it, especially if you already have furniture (and you haven’t left the house empty yet) and you have a decent eye for figuring out what looks right.
