Duke Energy Florida & Tampa Electric Co. Sent Fleets To Help Hurricane Florence Aftermath

Tampa Bay utility companies sent fleets straight into the Carolinas in order to help with the aftermath of Hurricane Florence. Of course, this was once forecast models predicted that most of Florida would be avoid serious wrath from Florence.

Both Duke Energy Florida and Tampa Electric Co. sent fleets to help. Wednesday, Duke Energy sent 1,100 Florida employees and 1,000 Midwest employees to handle line work, tree removal, damage assessments and other support. Of course, Duke’s parent company is headquartered in North Carolina.

Additionally though Tampa Electric crews will stay in the hard hit areas for two weeks, sending 250 line workers and contracts.

These two utility companies belong to a collective of utilities that have arrangements to help each other during storms or other power emergencies.
