Have Fun In The Snow Tampa!
This is your last chance to play in the snow or enjoy the ice around Tampa. Though the snowbirds might laugh, knowing that the ice and snow will leave Tampa this week is sad for many of us. So, if you haven’t gotten a chance to enjoy one of the Tampa area winter attractions, here’s how to make sure you don’t miss your chance!
Snow Blast in the Tyrone Mall
The Snow Blast is a fun winter event located in the Tyrone Mall parking lot in St. Petersburg. It runs through Monday, so make sure you catch it this weekend if you can! The cost is $25 (2 and younger free) for 90 minutes. Enjoy an hour and a half of racing snow tubes down one of eight lanes! Play around in the snow and make snow balls. Friday and Saturday night at 10 p.m., find your inner child with a night of “galactic tubing.” This would be a stellar date night activity for the young at heart.
Ice Rinks
This is the first season that Downtown Tampa and Downtown St. Petersburg both still feature real ice rinks! Curtis Hixon Park has set up a tent for ice skating for several years, but this is the first time St. Petersburg’s Albert Whitted Park has set one up. Albert Whitted Park sessions are just $10 for an hour. That includes ice skate rentals. This one will stay open through Monday. If you want to ice skate in downtown Tampa though, you’ll have to catch the Winter Village by Sunday. In Tampa, the cost is $14 for 90 minutes. That price including skate rental.
Don’t forget, this will be the last weekend for these snowy events. After that, it will be “Thumpety thump thump…Over the hills of snow.”
