How Do I Get A Proof Of Funds Letter?

During the process of purchasing a new home, you will be asked to get a proof of funds letter. You’ll need to show you have available liquid assets to cover the costs of your down payment and your closing costs. If this is your first time buying a home, everything may seem overwhelming. So, for peace of mind, we’ll explain how to get a proof of funds letter.

Getting a proof of funds letter is quite simple actually. It’s a very quick, very easy process. While some banks are slower than others, it shouldn’t really take more than two days. Some banks will give you a proof of funds letter immediately when you walk up to the teller actually. To be safe, allow yourself a week.

You’ll need to submit this proof of funds to the seller either as you make your offer or shortly after.
