How To Pay Property Taxes And Late Payments In Hillsborough County, Florida

As many homeowners know, property tax can be a pain to deal with, if they aren’t rolled into an escrow account. Property tax can be even more difficult to deal with if you’re late on your payments. While nothing can be done about it being annoying, those in Florida’s Hillsborough County can counter the confusing aspect of property tax if they learn how.

The Two Easiest Ways To Pay Property Taxes In Hillsborough County

The first way is to use one of the many tax collection offices around Hillsborough County. First, you have to know where they are. There are eight collection offices around the county, one in Plant City, one in Ruskin, and six in Tampa. If you need more help finding them, you can do so at their website here. Their general business hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Fridays. It’s best to arrive early, so that you can get through it with the least waiting. Once you arrive, just go in and state your business on paying your property tax. If you’re making a late payment, they’ll make you fill out a form, and you must pay any late charges. It’s a simple, if time consuming process. If you wished to skip any of that, you could send cash or a check over the mail by sending it to their postal addresses found on their website.

The second, easier, way is to pay online using the website, link here. When on the website, there will be many options to choose from. In the second row, all the way to the right, “Tangible Property Tax Payment” is the option you want to select. Once selected, it brings you to another page that allows you to search for yourself via several different methods. You can enter your name, your address, your account number, or any other term that could be associated with your property. Once you find your property, it will show you what you owe, late or otherwise, on the page. You can select your payment method from there, and pay using your Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, or e-check account. Once you authorize the payment, your taxes are paid.
