Right now is a better time to buy a house in Hillsborough County than we’ve seen in awhile. It didn’t look so good for buyers, as you probably know. While it’s still very much a seller’s market due to low inventory, the previously skyrocketing prices have finally leveled out a bit for Hillsborough County home buyers now.
While inventory is down a little from this time last year, it’s still an easier time to buy a Hillsborough home that we’ve seen in awhile … Especially if you are working with a skilled real estate team.
Greater Tampa Realtors Market Report For Hillsborough County
The number of closed sales during the month of June in which buyers exclusively paid in cash fell 11 percent from number of those closed sales one year prior. That’s the word from the Greater Tampa Realtors’ market report from the first month of the summer. Meanwhile, if you look at the cash sales as a percentage of the total sales, they fell 7.6 percent since the same time in 2017.
This is important because cash sales generally show how active investors are in participating in a particular market. As investors relax a little, this makes the market a little less competitive for home buyers. Meanwhile, median sales price only rose by 7.3 percent in the last year. While that may seem like quite a bit, it’s much less of an increase than we had been seeing.
Last year the market was super hot for sellers. Right now, if you partner with a knowledgeable real estate team like RE/MAX ACR ELITE GROUP, it should be much easier to get you into your dream home than if you had been searching the market several months ago.
