Reptilepalooza At Clearwater Marine Aquarium
When you’d think of majestic animals you would visit in a zoo or aquarium, normally people would think of lions, whales, sharks, horses, that sort of thing. Very few people will actively recognize the majesty of particular reptiles, however. Where better to recognize this however, than the home of some of the most majestic reptiles on earth? That’s right, Tampa, Florida’s own Clearwater Marine Aquarium is having a special exhibit, Reptilepalooza.
Clearwater Marine Aquarium will be having a special event about the various reptiles that live in the aquarium from March 10th to April 8th called “Reptilepalooza.” At the event, children will be encouraged to learn and participate in activities regarding the reptiles that call the facility home. Activities include an information game about telling the difference between a turtle and a tortoise, an activity teaching children about what reptiles are invasive and which ones are native to an ecosystem, an activity teaching the participants about how an animal can be classified as a reptile, as well as live presentations about each different reptile in the aquarium on specific dates. Dozens of different creatures can be seen at the exhibit, from tortoises to skinks, to the larger serpents and alligators that call the Tampa Bay home.
Exhibit hours will be from 10am to 8pm, and can be found at 249 Windward Passage, Clearwater. Admission prices are $25 for adults, $20 for children, $23 for senior citizens, and free for infants under two years of age. Parking is available in their parking garage, and seasonal rates may apply. Remember that the aquarium is both an indoor and outdoor experience, and dress appropriately. Attempting to feed any of the animals is prohibited, and all food should be left far away from the tank in order to maintain the health of the creatures living inside.
