The best part is you don’t necessarily need a lot of money or a lot of time off – it’s the quality of your time. Use it to your best advantage so that you can look back and feel good about your summer days.

A small road trip is the epitome of summertime – even if it’s just going to see a friend or a long lost aunt. That’s a great way to do two things at once – travel and visit someone! It’s better to do it with a buddy, but alone can be equally fun (or perhaps with your beloved pooch!) It’s never been easier than with the latest GPS apps like Waze to find good roads to travel.
Love the outdoors? Take the kids or a friend and go camping at the lake! Even if you stay in a rented cabin for a nominal fee, sitting out by a fire, roasting marshmallows and reflecting on your goals and dreams is good for the soul. It’s a great opportunity to “unplug” from electronics as well.
Check out your local concert venue and see if any bands are coming to town that you love. Or, be adventurous and go see a band you’ve never seen – lawn seats, front row seats, it doesn’t matter. Good music is good music! Maybe you’ve always wanted to hear Opera live or see an orchestra. There’s no better time than now – and don’t forget about college and high school marching bands, who are practicing, and you can go listen for free!
